Renewed Hope: The Mercy’s Shore JourneyA bright new year ahead! Happy New Year! We are excited to kick off 2025 with enthusiasm and renewed purpose. As we look ahead, we are reminded of the importance of community, love, and support. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to create an environment where our families can feel seen, heard, and valued. We are proud of the progress we have made so far and look forward to continuing this work in the years to come. Empowered mothers, better futures: Our moms continue to pursue their professional goals with determination and passion. Priscilla is advancing her education in social work, Emily is training as a medical assistant, and Amberlee is diligently working toward her associates degree. These achievements not only empower them as individuals but also set a profound example for their children about the importance of perseverance and fulfillment. As they work towards their goals, they are also gaining valuable skills and knowledge that will benefit them in their roles. Their hard work and dedication are truly inspiring, and we are honored to be a part of their journey. We believe that education and personal growth are essential for building a brighter future, not just for themselves but also for their children. By supporting their goals, we are investing in a better tomorrow for these families. New parenting class coming soon! In two weeks, our mothers will begin a new parenting class taught by Anna Schaefer. This opportunity will equip them with valuable insights and practical skills to nurture their growth as loving and effective parents. We are eager to see how this class will enrich their lives and strengthen their bonds with their children. As they learn new strategies and techniques, they will be better equipped to navigate the challenges of parenting and create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development. We believe that parenting is not just about providing for our children's physical needs but also about shaping their character, values, and worldview. By investing in our mothers' parenting skills, we are investing in the next generation of leaders, citizens, and members of society. How moms are finding strength sober! On Tuesdays, our moms participate in "Sober Mom Squad" at Nexus Recovery Center. This program enhances their journeys toward healing and support as they engage in meaningful discussions, share experiences, and build connections. Through this fellowship, they find strength in knowing they are not alone, creating a community rooted in accountability and encouragement. As they navigate the challenges of sobriety, they are learning valuable lessons about resilience, self-care, and community. They are discovering that recovery is not just about quitting a substance but also about rebuilding their lives, relationships, and sense of purpose. We are proud to be a part of their journey and to provide a safe space for them to grow and thrive. As we celebrate Mercy's Shore, we're reminded that there are many more families waiting for a second chance.
