A New BeginningToday, we're thrilled to introduce E and her 19-month-old son I as our first family to call Mercy's Shore home! After a long and challenging journey, E is finally getting a second chance to provide a safe and nurturing environment for her child. She's been through tough times, struggling with addiction and losing custody of three of her children due to her circumstances. But with our support and resources, she's determined to break the cycle of poverty and create a better life for herself and her child. Join us in praying for E and I as they begin this new chapter in their lives. We're honored to be a part of their journey and grateful for your support in helping us provide a safe haven for families like theirs. The Perfect Nest: A Sneak Peek at Our First Apartment Our first resident is now settled into their new apartment! Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've received an overwhelming amount of donated items to turn our apartments into cozy homes. It may seem like a daunting task to furnish four apartments, but trust us, it's a lesson learned the hard way. We've been overwhelmed with donations of essentials like mattresses, bedframes, coffee tables, dining tables, sofas, area rugs, dishes, pots and pans, glasses, and silverware - the list goes on! With the help of our generous community, we've received virtually everything we need to turn a vacant apartment into a home for the families we serve. But it wasn't just about receiving donations - we also had to arrange for their delivery and movement into the apartments. Three dedicated volunteers, Ann, Susan, and Myrna, took on the bulk of the furnishing and decorating tasks for not only the four apartments but also our office. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for their tireless efforts in making this possible. And let's just say we've learned a valuable lesson for future projects: avoid units on the second floor at all costs! Introducing Our New Van: A Game-Changer for Families In our ongoing effort to support families affected by incarceration, Mercy's Shore's new van is a game-changing resource that will revolutionize the way we serve our community. The impact of this van extends far beyond mere transportation. It represents hope and stability for our residents, a tangible reminder that there are people who care about their well-being and are committed to supporting them every step of the way. We're grateful for the opportunity to share this exciting development with you, and we hope that you'll join us in celebrating this milestone. Your support is crucial in helping us cover the expenses associated with maintaining this new van, including fuel, insurance, and maintenance. By partnering with us as a sponsor, you'll be making a tangible difference in the lives of our residents and their families. Together, we can create a brighter future for those affected by incarceration. Join us today as we embark on this new chapter in our journey towards empowerment and hope.
