Welcome Home!Since the last time you heard from us, a lot has changed. Recall we received keys to the first two apartments for families who will be a part of the Mercy's Shore program on May 2nd. Today, June 1st, we received keys to the other two apartments which will be a part of the housing for the families we will serve. One of our dear friends has pitched in to furnish and decorate the first two apartments and is biting at the bit to get started on the two we got today. She has spent many hours getting things just right. We do not have all the furnishings we need, so if you would like to play a part in making Mercy's Shore "Home", we will be grateful for your help. You can call us at our new office number (214/446-1811) or email us [email protected]. We can arrange pick up. Candidates are reaching out
There is no shortage of single moms with children who need the services Mercy's Shore provides. Unfortunately, because we only serve a limited number of families, we have to decline some applications. We are unable to serve the world, but Mercy's Shore means the world to the ones we can serve. We seek to steward the resources God has graciously provided through folks just like you. We will be as transparent as we can be when it comes to the use of the resources you have entrusted to us. Searching for a Social Worker A number of months ago, we secured a commitment from a highly qualified social worker to be the case manager at Mercy's Shore. Since we received that commitment, a good many things have changed. It has taken much longer than we thought it would take to secure housing. We waited patiently for God to provide housing and He did. But, in the meantime, the circumstances of our case manager changed and she is now unable to join us as part of the staff. So, we are short one social worker.
